I honestly feel like Man Utd should be doing better. Not necessarily in terms of winning the league or coming in 2nd but they should be in a better position than they are. It doesn't help that City, us and Chelsea have all stepped up compared to last season and Tottenham are a very strong and stable side. 

I'm going to compare us to Man Utd. Look at our squad compared to theirs. They have better squad depth then we do. Our back up right back is a 17 year old, our starting left back is a 30+ centre mid cause our natural left back can't be trusted. Our 4th choice centre back is a defensive mid. We've had like 3 teenagers on the bench for a large period of time and our bench for a lot of the season has been wank. 

They've got the ability and finances to recruit the likes of Pogba and Zlatan yet they're 6th. We spend a fair whack of money but we also sell a lot of players to make money. Yes Jose has only had one summer transfer window but so has Klopp. He's inherited the same situation as Jose in a sense yet with a worse squad, less money and a weakened pool of players that could be attracted to join the club. 

Klopp in his first season compared to Jose is very similar in that they both got the final in the league cup (we lost, they won) and both got the final of the Europa league  (we had a much tougher run to the final like) and both teams are going to finish a few points short of the top 4 (we finished 8th but we were 6 points off 4th). We'd have been expected to finish around the Europa League spots last season, I'd have been expecting United to have been in a better position / performing better then they are. 

Again, I don't think they were going to win or have a strong title challenge but finishing 6th isn't a success and a Europa League win is a papering over the cracks imo. Especially considering the piss easy run they've had.

@Lineker did you nab a bit of the turf? My mate got a bit of the pitch at Brisbane Road many years ago, we got promoted and on the last league game we all stormed the pitch and all that and the groundsman, who looked like a bubble porn star, was digging up bits of the turf and handing it out to whoever wanted it. And on that day I took a photo of Bazza and shook his hand. Good times.
