9 to 5
She did very well tonight, I think like Murray, the Olympics could be the start for them to find real confidence.
EddieG
Shame Clijsters had to go out this way.

Starvinho
Just seen that Laura Robson beat Clijsters, got a really good feeling about this girl. Hopefully we could finally have a British woman that can compete at the top on the game! Well done Laura.
gunnar hendershow
With the way the women's game goes I wouldn't be surprised to see Robson climb the rankings rather quickly. Hopefully she's more of the mold of the Williams sisters who play the top tournaments year round as opposed to Safina and Woz who play the small tournaments that are easy to win to pad their ranking. She'll be a better player because of it.
Admin Lineker Posted August 30, 2012 Admin Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 Andy Murray through to third round of US Open after beating Ivan Dodig 6-2, 6-1, 6-3.
naiwf
Andy Roddick's going to retire once he loses at the US Open. At least now, I won't have to hear from the commentators that he's right there on the edge of getting his game back. He's lucky he achieved as much as he did with basically just a serve and a forehand.
Asuka's Gonna Kill You
I knew the minute I see Roddick right now saying this was going to be his final tournament that you'd be on here to comment on it naiwf. Roddick is awesome you evil man
Admin Lineker Posted August 30, 2012 Admin Report Share Posted August 30, 2012 Raonic is far superior to however good Roddick ever was.
Adam
Well I'm sad Roddick is retiring so abruptly. Fair play to him though, not surprising he wanted to end it at Flushing Meadows. Always been one of my favourite players.
gunnar hendershow
Roddick's a weird part of tennis history because he could have likely won 4-5 Grand Slams if Federer never existed. For probably 3 years he was the second best player on the planet yet he had nothing but a U.S. Open to show for it. I wasn't a big fan of his, but he's in such a strange place historically. Perhaps the ultimate "what could have been" name in the sport's history. Instead his legacy for the time being will be the last American men's player to reach number 1. naiwf
Kerber's about to tank hard in this 3rd set. EDIT: It's amazing that Venus lost 7-5 in the 3rd after making almost 60 unforced errors and hitting 16 double faults. naiwf
Robson's now eliminated 2 GS winners in a row. Next up is Stosur. If she gets through that match, she'd likely face Azarenka. That's the definition of a brutal draw. Hopefully she doesn't become the British version of Melanie Oudin.

gunnar hendershow
Roddick's final match won't be tonight from the looks of it. About to beat Tomic.
IAceI
Well done to Robson on beating Li Na, saw a bit of it and she looks in good form and fearless. Great combination.
Starvinho
Murray struggled past Lopez in four sets 7-6 7-6 4-6 7-6 and will now play Milos Raonic in the Last 16.
