Dennis Tueart, capped 6 times for England (two goals too - and from the left wing!) who played over 200 times for Manchester City played for the New York Cosmos in the late 70s.

Around the same time Keith Eddy and Terry Garbett played for the Cosmos too, both appeared more than 200 times for Watford. Harald Jarman, Bristol Rovers 6th all time appearing player (and first class cricketer to boot) had a once season stint with the Cosmos in 1974.

Gordon Hill, who would be capped 6 times for England and win the FA Cup with United in 1977, played for the NASL's second most successful side, the Chicago Sting. on loan from Millwall in 1975.
