Well, you can use Michu as an example. Scores 16 in La Liga and moves for £2m. Then scores 19 in the PL and is getting a £20m+ quoted pricetag.

Marca are claiming that Chelsea want to re-sign Tiago (who was part of the Blues' 2004/05 title-winning season) on a one year deal when the 33 year old midfielder is released by Atletico Madrid this summer.

I wouldn't have a problem with this. He's still a pretty solid midfield option in the short-term, and the signing of senior players like this would suggest that they're being used to "bridge the gap" while our existing younger talents are (maybe) brought into the senior squad alongside them...
