Sky Sports understand that Stoke City are closing in on a surprise move for Cardiff City forward Peter Odemwingie. Odemwingie has only been at Cardiff for half a season having made the move from West Brom in the summer. Stoke are also understood to have released Jermaine Pennant.

Leeds have rejected all bids for Ross McCormack.

West Brom are said to be weighing up a move for Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton.
