So the US have Brooks, Chandler, Green, Johnson and Jermaine Jones who are all German, along with Diskerud and Johannsson who are Norwegian and Icelandic respectively. It's not fair that they get to make up their shortcomings with talented foreign produced talent. All we get are mediocre English players through the granny rule. :(

Best case was Tony Cascarino who qualified because of his Irish grandfather. Only it turned out that his mother was adopted by said Irish grandfather. So in truth he was 100% not even remotely Irish. Still have to love him though

How about Houghton?

The Scots have given us decent players over the years. Houghton, Coyne, McGeady and McCarthy come to mind. I'm grateful for them. The English? John Mackay, Simon Cox, Andy O'Brien, Alex Bruce and Clinton Morrison. Yeah, not so much

That Hargreaves guy was OK for a Canadian.

Who could also have played for Wales or Germany.

I honestly think this is why England are so disappointing. We've had such an unusual amount of sick notes through the years. Hargreaves, Woodgate, King, Owen, realistically, these are players who could still be playing at the highest level today if it wasn't for their injury problems.

I'm still not over McGeady and McCarthy. It would have been nice to have them.

Dirty traitors, :@

I think he's available on FM 14 as a coach. Might try to cobble together a sicknotes backroom staff, so Hargreaves, Michael Owen... etc

Needs more Darren Anderton.

He tore his knee ligaments putting his suit on for the interview
