United XI: De Gea, Rafael, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Januzaj, Giggs; Welbeck.

We look decent out wide, and hopefully the 3 in midfield will give us enough protection tonight. I'd like to see plenty of chances created, and very few the other way.

Under normal circumstances, "Sunderland are the first to score in the home leg" isn't really remarkable.

But add "because Giggs scored an own goal seconds before the break" and there you have the calibre of tomfoolery that is the joy of the Moyes era.

Yup, more bad defending.

Also, Welbeck is playing far too deep. Januzaj tried from out on the left, and Valencia has on the right, but whenever we've gone forward there's nowhere near enough of a presence in the box.

I'd happily take a draw right now.
