The Barclays Premier League Thread 2013/14

Bentaleb isn't bad, he even has had very good games. But Sherwood has started him in the vast majority of his games and never, ever, ever subs him off. As a sub or even a rotational starter for spans of multiple games in a week (though that's about to basically end on Thursday) it's not insane, but instead it just feels like nepotism, especially when at times it's been Christian Eriksen riding the bench with Bentaleb starting.

This whole thing is dumb. Making Sherwood the actual manager and not the interim manager was so dumb. It was a move to try and calm down the uncertainty and instead it's just made him angry and insecure because unless he had done flat-out amazing the rest of the season he was always getting replaced in the summer, and the last couple weeks of results have pretty much ensured that that's not happening and he knows it.

Was watching some talk on the game and David Moyes future on the ABC earlier today(think Australian version of the BBC but with less sport and no Lineker).

The news show host asked the sports expert whether Moyes is under real pressure now and the sports expert said he believed Moyes is not in trouble this season but a poor start to 2014/15 will very likely see him gone.

I don't see a reason giving him another transfer window to test his ineptitude. Admit it was a mistake and actually go through a proper hiring process rather than playing Fergie Says again.

I'd say hiring Tim Stoker and using his time machine to redo this season might be a good starting point.

I wouldn't trust him not to sell off the crown jewels for £1 to Man City.

Oh wait, Man Utd don't have any crown jewels.

Thing is, if he is sacked, won't the next appointment have an element of "Fergie Says" too?

How? Unless he decides to tell the board to appoint another one of his pals, the usual procedure of inviting applications, forming a shortlist and interviewing candidates would take place
