He was certainly linked. I think Vorm even came out and said he wants to reunite with Rodgers, but nothing came of it and we got Mignolet instead, who I couldn't be happier with.

That's an easy answer, but when the argument against Moyes is that he should be doing much better with this team kinda negates that.

It's not shit, it's average by your lots standards and Moyes is underachieving with them.

A few Everton players would improve your squad but with the possible exception of Barkley not to the standard you'd like it to improve.

It's the right answer. People keep saying it because it's true. Last year, Fergie dragged an average side to the title when nobody else turned up, and this year Moyes and his ineptitude is dragging that same squad further down. Moyes is a shit manager working with a shit team, so yeah, it's both.

And Everton 'clearly' don't have a better squad? Results, which are all that matter, say differently.

Also, let the Baines pursuit be a lesson - you can't just pick and choose Everton players to take with you. Nearly ballsed up Fellaini and got nowhere with Baines. Must try harder.

De Gea still has his dodgy moments. Vidic is leaving. Rio has all the pace of an encroaching ice age and can be brutally exposed in this league, Evra's nowhere near as good as he was. Rafael hardly sets the world alight. Jones and Smalling haven't developed and they have zero depth at full back on either side.
