I regret my small part in making this thread more about the Wayans than about the Oscars.

Good for the Argo writer and QT. Would've been very happy to see either Amour or Moonrise get the nod, but I'm happier Django did - a truly original script which deserved recognition.

Yes, it is shocking that the best actor out of that category won, I agree. Plus, with one joke Daniel was funnier than MacFarlane's been all night!

Riva was robbed of best actress. Lawrence was good, as was Silver Linings, but I just can't wrap my head around how it wracked up so many nominations. And I dunno, I just didn't see Lawrence's performance and think it was the best of the year. Not even by a long shot.

Happy for DDL. He's just phenomenal and gave a great speech. Three oscars for a leading role is just incredible.

I am shocked Life of Pi or Les Miserablés hasn't won every category they have been nominated in; I mean, the whole show was based around them. Glad to see that they didn't win Best Picture.

Kinda fun show, didn't agree with all the results, but it was decent enough.

Ang Lee winning was absurd. He really should have just declined and give it to Ben Affleck. And the Michelle Obama cameo was just over-the-top.

But the biggest shock of the night was that neither George Clooney nor his beard said anything.

So it turns out when you watch the Oscars via DVR it's actually great. I enjoyed it. Even Seth MacFarlane, who I usually hate. I'm sure it was a chore to watch live, but instead I got to skip through sound editing and the Chicago number and shit.

Only real disappointment for me was Brave beating Wreck-It Ralph. Sure, I wanted Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams to win their categories but that was neeeeever happening.

Oh, and the sound mixing for the "Skyfall" performance being really bad. On the plus side, "Goldfinger" was fucking amazing.

I've decided to watch all the award shows recently, but I have not at all been able to get into this one - I cannot stand Seth McFarlane.. I'mma just go to the Adele bit and watch the Argo win and I'll be fine, me thinks.
