Admin Lineker Posted October 11, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 11, 2013 Fuck. I'm completely stunned. That's shocking, horrendous news. Really at a loss for words.
Chris2K
Really sad news. They've released that she died of natural causes so it could well be a devastating after-effect of the big crash.
MJB
Good stuff from Webber today but I still expect Vettel to be ahead at the end of lap 1.
Admin Lineker Posted October 12, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 12, 2013 Hopefully his faulty KERS will rear its head again!
Katsuya
Apparently de Villota's death was linked to the crash. Vettel wins what a surprise. Hulkenburg now might be going back to Force India, which seems...like a bad move again Sauber have suddenly developed what seems to be the 3rd/4th best car on the grid. At this rate, they might even pass McLaren with the speed they're picking up points.
Chris2K
It was fun until the second set of pit stops at which point it became a formality. Webber is saying that Red Bull made a mistake by switching him to a two stop strategy, apparently he hasn't actually noticed that the result is exactly what Red Bull wanted. Admin Lineker Posted October 13, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 13, 2013 Pretty good race. Gutted for Webber, though. Kats, Sky commentators seemed to imply that Hulk to Lotus is all but announced...
Katsuya
It seems odd with Hulk. He's saying he might stay at Sauber, Eddie Jordan said he's going to Force India (and he's surprisingly accurate a lot of the time) yet the BBC had been pushing a story about Lotus effectively saying they'd hire him despite his size being an issue all week beforehand. He seems to have an issue with always switching to a team at the wrong time, really. Though with the way the seasons ending for him, he's looking a lock for the top ten in the drivers standings now, so maybe the Sauber switch wasn't too bad. Chris2K
Has anyone seen the F1 Legends with Eddie Irvine? If so, am I the only one that thinks he's a complete penis?
Katsuya
I've not, but Irvine's always been a dick so it's no surprise.
Chris2K
He called Rubens Barrichello "a good test driver", Ross Brawn "a decent tactician" and said every Ferrari he drove was rubbish. Also, F1 is boring now because it's safer and there's not enough money being spent.
Rainiac
Has anyone seen the F1 Legends with Eddie Irvine? If so, am I the only one that thinks he's a complete penis? The words "Eddie Irvine", "F1" & "Legends" shouldn't even be used together in the same paragraph, let alone sentence. The man is a total asshat
Admin Lineker Posted October 17, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 17, 2013 he's such a knob jockey. He only got a programme as he is Irish Adrian Sutil believes that he will "probably" remain at Force India in 2014, and Romain Grosjean has been told that a new deal at Lotus should be a formality, even though he will have to wait a bit longer for his contract to be sorted. Admin Lineker Posted October 19, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 Rumour doing the rounds is that the team of Massa and Smedley might be going to Williams, with Maldonado taking his PDVSA backing to Lotus.
MJB
Toro Rosso announce Russian Daniil Kvyat, 19, will join Jean-Eric Vergne in the driver line-up for 2014. Huge surprise. What happened to Da Costa?
Admin Lineker Posted October 22, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 22, 2013 Probably a combination of da Costa not meeting expectations in Formula Renault 3.5 this year, as well as money coming in from Russia, particularly with the Sochi GP next season. He does look somewhat gormless, though.
Katsuya
If all this ends up with Hulkenburg inexplicably not having a drive again, I will not be happy
Admin Lineker Posted October 24, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 24, 2013 He'll be fine. Someone will take him, no doubt. Meanwhile, Felipe Massa has confirmed that he's in talks with Williams.
Admin Lineker Posted October 25, 2013 Author Admin Report Share Posted October 25, 2013 Speaking of Williams, they've had another incident of a wheel nut coming loose on track. They could be in real trouble with the FIA now. Reports now emerging from the paddock that Marussia have finally agreed a deal with the commercial rights holder. They were the only one of the 11 teams not have a deal in place. And today's rumour is that Serotkin may be usurped from the Sauber seat by fellow countryman Vitaly Petrov. Makes sense and is much less of a risk, for sure. Sergey could then start off his career as the reserve/third driver, do some FP1's etc...
MJB
If Maldonado ends up partnering Grosjean at Lotus for 2014, they'll quickly go from one of my favourite teams to one of my most hated teams, just behind Red Bull and probably McLaren (if they keep Perez).
