I was in two minds about how I wanted Arsenal to do tonight. I wanted them to go through because I don't mind them as well as it would mean more games for them to play but at the same time I kinda wanted to laugh at my Arsenal supporting friend cause I know he'd laugh if it was us.

Away goals is such a shit rule though. I just think go straight to extra time and then penalties

They're not though, are they? If a conference team beats a premier league team in the FA cup, that doesn't mean they're better :/

It means they were better on the day. Regardless, my 'wooo!' was a hint towards my actual logic, and frankly the idea that Arsenal should lose because they aren't as good surely renders competitive sport pointless. Just give the cup to the best team on paper.

It's a shit rule but it discourages teams from trying to hold out for a 0-0 away from home and rely on winning at home.

Edit: And I wasn't saying Arsenal should lose because they aren't as good, but that I wanted them to :/

To go back to the Dream League, I remember an interview with, Im almost certain, Alex Ferguson, where he thought there was a strong likelihood that something like this might come about eventually, and top teams would essentially have two squads, one for european and one for domestic games.
