Wow, five people have already contributed at least $10,000 each. This one seems to be a lot more popular than I thought.

They did a big announcement post in the Wastland Kickstarter Updates. If you can talk directly to people that already told you that they are interested in funding you you get 20k backers in half a day.

One of my favourite bands, the ludicrously talented and lovely YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN are creating a video game, entitled YOUR TASK // SHOOT THINGS.

It incorporates their manga-influenced artwork, and it's effectively going to be a side-scrolling shooter, though they're also claiming that it takes a lot of influence from Earthbound, so I'm assuming there will be a reasonable amount of story and RPG elements incorporated somehow.

If nothing else, it's going to look gorgeous, but knowing the attention to detail that YT//ST - and particularly drummer/programmer/perfectionist Alaska B puts into everything - it'll be fantastic.

The site I work for and have been plugging recently had an interview with one of the producers of a game funded through Kickstarter, Battle Worlds: Kronos. You can read the interview here.
