The sales definitely aren't as significant as they used to be because there are so many mini-sales now, plus a lot of digital stores that didn't exist ten years ago. It used to be that the Steam sales were the one time of year when a load of games were discounted at once.

It says that the discount is applied at checkout, so I'm guessing it's an automatic discount.

They usually last the entire time now. There used to be daily deals, but they got rid of those a while ago.

Question for anyone who has played the Shadowrun games: 

I own and have played Shadowrun Returns many times. If I only get Dragonfall - Director's Cut or Hong Kong - Extended Edition, rather than getting both, which should I go with?

Not too difficult, from what I remember. It can be difficult at first, but if you like turn based strategy games, it'll be in your wheel house. And it also rewards clever thinking (like using a teleport spell, normally used to aid you across areas, to teleport an enemy into lava).
