lanky316
Referee remembering the rules regarding dangerous play was an interesting development too.
MDK
First match I've been able to watch and its GLORIOUS NIPPON leading Ireland!
TCO
Japan deserved that, fair play to them. We're gonna get murdered by the All Blacks in the quarters if we have to face them. I don't even mind that much. Our rugby fans are mostly posh bellends so this will be funny at the very least.
Cymbols
Fair play Japan. Also how shit does this make Scotland?
Bobfoc
I think this is less of a surprise than when Japan beat South Africa four years ago, but it's a massive result nonetheless. Given that Japan struggled against Russia, this is a huge improvement. I'm not sure what's happened to Ireland this year. If the World Cup had been held this time last year, I'd have tipped them to make the final, and perhaps even win the competition, but they were well below-par in the Six Nations and then again today. Well done to Japan, though. They seem to have been great hosts so far.

MDK
Too difficult to support either the convicts or the sheep botherers, so I was Team Floodlight.
Admin Lineker Posted October 10, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted October 10, 2019 England vs. France has been called off due to the typhoon.
Bobfoc
So England automatically top the group and get a weekend off? That's some luck.

Cymbols
And England and France get 10 extra days to recover compared to their QF opponents.

lanky316
They'll both be a bit rustier. Meeting each other you'd expect them to pick their best 15s and try to get momentum out of the game. They'll have more rest but think it could hit them when it comes to the QF matches and struggle. We'll see what way it all swings.
Cymbols
Nah, no chance will they be rusty - still very much in training. Those teams will go into the knockout stages having played 80 minutes fewer of full throttle rugby - and would’ve been the toughest game of the group stages for each side. Also, statistically we’re seeing at least one serious injury per game of professional rugby, so those teams also have the advantage of a lower risk of injury. I get why it has to happen, but some teams are getting a lot more out of it than others.
Baddar
Scotland trail Japan 21-7 going into HT.
Bobfoc
If Japan win and top the group, they'll play South Africa in a rematch from probably the biggest ever upset in international rugby four years ago. That would be very tasty indeed.
Chris2K
After all of Scotland RFU's bitching and threats of legal action, the fact the game got played and they're losing is just brilliant.

Admin Lineker Posted October 19, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted October 19, 2019 Decent lead but still plenty of time to fuck it up left yet.
Bobfoc
England vs New Zealand is shaping up to be an intriguing contest. I'm thinking that this current All Blacks team would beat England maybe four times out of five, but a top performance from England would make things very interesting indeed. I expect the second semi-final to be between Wales and South Africa, which should also be interesting. I predicted a New Zealand/South Africa final earlier on and will stick with that for now, but another surprise would be great.
