Hey Englishmen, on a scale of 1 to 10, how bizarre is it that Darren Anderton is doing TV analysis for the Canadian broadcasts of Euro?

It's weird, I just watched BBC coverage of the England/Ireland friendly from 1995 when English fans rioted. Then I read that.

Fifteen years ago it was the lingering threat of hooliganism and now it's eastern European racism. Joys of football!

At least it keeps up this seasons theme of football racisim. <_<

On the racism thing, I genuinely think it would need a major nation like Holland, France or Germany (or England :shifty:) to walk to prompt UEFA to pay attention. When the players the sponsors want to see aren't going to play ball that's when they'll act, otherwise it'll continue to be "no, they were saying boo-urns, boo-urns".

On Euros starting today, yay! For compulsive gamblers my cats predicted Greece and Czech Republic for today, might be worth a cheeky quid...

I do have my Russia shirt on at work today. I've decided that I will be supporting them against Czech Republic because they have two players I like (Zhirkov, Dzagoev) versus one (Cech). And because I have the shirt. Obviously.

Toxic jerseys

In June 2012, the BEUC, Europe's consumer watchdog, issued a warning about chemicals found in football jerseys produced by Adidas, Nike, and Puma.[134] The BEUC expressed the most concern about Polish jerseys, saying they should be banned because they were found to contain organotin, which is toxic to the nervous system.[134] Spanish, German, Ukrainian, Russian, French, and Italian jerseys were found to contain lead, Portuguese and Dutch jerseys contained nickel, and Spanish and Italian shirts also contained nonylphenol.[134]

RIP Colly and Stoker.
