METALMAN
This is shocking. Possibly the person who got me into cricket more than anyone else.
Chris2K
I don't even know what to say, absolutely shocking news.
Admin Lineker Posted March 4, 2022 Admin Report Share Posted March 4, 2022 Out of nowhere. What a horrendous thing for his family to have to go through.
jrhodes
I've never seen a bowler bowl as many utterly unplayable deliveries as Shane Warne did. RIP.
MJB
This one kicks me right in the balls. Heartwarming to see so much respect and love for an incredible competitor. Even after his playing days, he was supremely fair and enjoyable to listen to as a pundit and commentator. Massive shame and especially sad for his children and the rest of his family and friends. 52 really is no age.
Paton
I am not okay today. Rest in Peace, Warne.

Admin Lineker Posted May 12, 2022 Admin Report Share Posted May 12, 2022 Coach! Serves me right for trying to post as I'm passing out from exhaustion.
Chris2K
To be fair, McCullum is one of the best captains in cricket history, there's no way that New Zealand become as good as they are now without McCullum re-defining how test cricket can be played back when he was captain. I'm sure he'll be a good coach too, but the issue is with the system at the moment so Rob Key is going to have to be the person making a bigger impact than McCullum or Stokes. Chris2K
It's possible England's test batting has not magically improved by changing everything other than the players.
Chris2K
Well that turned around. Sensational batting from Root, who becomes the second Englishman to score 10,000 runs, and does so at exactly the same age (in years and days old) that Sir Alastair Cook did. GuyIncognito
Gutted Chunders didn't get his hundred for NZ, but hell of a win for Stokes/McCullum in their first game. Going to be a bumpy ride the next couple of years, Potts impressive but yet another medium pacer that'll suit home conditions only. Batting looks paperweight again bar Root and Foakes. The top 3 really inspires zero confidence.
jrhodes
Bairstow and Stokes are giving New Zealand an absolute battering here.
Chris2K
I've never been the biggest Bairstow fan, but this innings has been sensational. And just as I type that, he gets out.
Chris2K
What a chase that was, like a completely different team. Stokes finishing it with an almost identical shot to his Headingley innings was a nice touch.
Chris2K
I've always tried to say that the second tier of international sides like Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands should be allowed to play against the top tier more often, but today is doing very little to help that cause. 3 centuries for England, including Buttler's in just 47 balls, and a Netherlands team made up of players who aren't considered good enough to play for a county side. And then Morgan gets a golden duck... Highest ODI total of all time, but it doesn't quite feel the same as doing it against Australia. Plus 498 just feels like you bottled getting 500. PantherFan22
England are a chance to crack the 'magical' 500 before the series is done. The Aussies haven't had a chance to improve their averages as we don't appear to have any matches against the Dutch in the forseeable future, which is kind of fitting, seeing as we don't play Afghanistan or Ireland either... But a 2-ODI series against Zimbabwe is coming in August. Edited June 21, 2022 by PantherFan22
