Matt
These 2 can still get runs. New ball looks like it's swinging huge based on that first ball from Jimmy.
Matt
We got 'em. Now, let's post 280 and make them chase 400.
Matt
Looks like we're going to be asking Root to get a score again. Fantastic catch from Clarke there though to take Lyth. 73-3, 195 in front.
hugobomb
Ballance needs a good knock very soon. The man just looks completely bereft of confidence. Root however is still awesome

Chris2K
What a fine performance all around. Of course the key is now to take it into the Lords test on Thursday and not let the Aussies come back fighting.Shane Watson's LBW/Review saga is the greatest storyline in Ashes history. Berober
I'm excited now, my dad has a complimentary ticket for the Edgbaston game from the ECB, and there's a 50/50 chance my brother can't make it, so I get the ticket.I want that ticket.

There's a lot to be said about a lot of Shane Watson reviews, but neither of the ones in this game.
Chris2K
Oh yeah he should review it, especially as both times he was the last recognised batsman remaining. The comedy comes from his reviews constantly being upheld, even by the slightest margin, rather than his decision making in calling for the review. And from constantly needing to ask for reviews because he's constantly given out LBW. Plubby
Just a few short hours after this savage attack on Watson, word filters through that Watson will be dropped. Plubby = selector, confirmed.
Rich
so what you're saying is he was subjected to a review?

Matt
Definitely a toss we needed to win on the basis of the first session and a half.
Chris2K
It's a perfect example of England shooting themselves in the foot. The Lord's ground staff tried to make a pitch like Cardiff to negate Johnson and Starc again, and end up producing a terrible wicket (in terms of an even contest between bat and ball) which is almost going to result in a draw unless England bat terribly. Matt
Yeah, the Aussies will probably declare on around 650 towards the end of the day and we'll need to bat well and draw the match. No chance of a win here unless the Aussies decide to throw the game
Chris2K
40-4... This could turn into one of the most humiliating defeats I've seen.
