The Thread Where We've All Got Playoff Beards

I'm curious what the net options really are and wanted to throw a challenge out. No idea what the asking price is on Luongo. Tampa snapped up Lindback, Harding claims he wants to stay and eventually take the starting job in Minnesota. What you're left with if you're a GM is basically the aging backups like Clemmensen, Ellis, Conklin, and Biron. Huet, Nittymaki, and Turco are out there too but all at various stages of rusty.

So say you're Detroit or Nashville or Toronto or NYR or even Boston or Vancouver. Do you promote a minor leaguer/prospect or make a signing? Who do you like and how do you integrate them?

Biron was very good for us last year. He's also great at giving advise during shootouts. It wouldn't be uncommon for our players to hang by him before their shootout attempt.

It's funny that the draft was supposed to be all about the top 5, with everybody else being good players but not in their league, and now there's about 15 people that can be placed in any order.

And Be, that's a little too simple. Talented for an 18-year-old and talented for a 20-year-old are two different things.

Also the age of the player will be relevant when contracts are handed out re: UFA/RFA status.

Was there a Ryan vs Ryan part 3?!

Also...I think I want the Leafs to sign Penner on July 1st...assuming he comes at a smaller cap-hit than he is at now. Have him on the 2nd or 3rd line, he'd be perfect!
