The Budweiser FA Cup

United-Chelsea looks tasty. (Watch it end up being Reading-Boro!)

If it does happen to be United-Chelsea then it'll be in the eighth succesive FA Cup tie that we've played Premier League opposition and the 23rd time in 28 ties. And people say we always get easy draws...

In fairness, a lot of them will be the 'lower' PL teams, but you're right. It certainly feels like the other big sides get more favourable ties against lower league opposition.

Well, statistically, since the start of the 10-11 FA Cup season:

United have faced Premier League opposition 80% of the time (10 matches) (of those 10 matches, two were against City, two were against Liverpool and one was Arsenal)

Man City have faced Premier League opposition 50% of the time (10 matches)

Chelsea have faced Premier League opposition 45% of the time (11 matches)

Arsenal have faced Premier League opposition 40% of the time (10 matches)

Which would seem to stack up to say that United get tougher draws, I guess.

I thought the main point of United getting easier draws was about the Champions League group stage? :P

Happens to every other top seed though, most seasons.

Didn't Chelsea play a bunch of Danish bus drivers and postmen this season?

Admittedly the rest of their group was tough, but still. :shifty:
