The 2011/12 Gary Speed Memorial Thread

Apparently he meant to say guy instead of gay, which could make sense, though it's quite likely he's just saying that to try to cover himself. While it was yet another average comment in the long line of them (See Clarkson), he amongst so many others should know that everything is always blown out of proportion nowadays.

No. just no. "A" and "U" are nowhere near each other on a keyboard and "stupid little guy" doesn't sound like something anyone would say.

Aston Villa announce record losses for 2010-2011 of £54m despite record revenues of £92m. Their spending included a £12m "charge in relation to changes in management personnel". O'Neill's pay-off? Despite losses Randy Lerner continues to the most indulgent owner any club could ask for - he put in a further £25m last season

Thanks to @simonaldo who points out £12m could include compensation to Birmingham for Alex McLeish. Or a bit of both.

''stupid little gay'' sounds just as silly and unlikely for someone to say, to be honest.

Not really, calling someone a "gay" is more common* and makes more sense in the context than calling someone a "guy".

*unless you're from Canada, buddy.

I think he did mean to say gay and now he's just covering himself. At the end of the day though he's a idiot for even responding to someone giving him abuse, he needs to learn to just ignore people like that and not give them the satisfaction. If he can't do that then he shouldn't have a Twitter account.

Twitter is horrible for some footballers in terms of what they say as has been seen lately, amusing for us to laugh at how stupid they can been however.

Some Man.Utd fan wanted Coleen and her family to die because she said Congrats Liverpool on twitter.

I mean where else are we to see people like Joey Barton copying and pasting philosophy quotes and The Smiths lyrics that he searched for on Google or Piers Morgan thinking he is a top class football pundit or morons like Raval Morrison saying homophobic slurs to people or Rooney accepting peoples offers to have them a fight.

Tut tut tut Macheda. He should have done what Barton did and called some football fans 'peasants'. Or what Greg Halford done and asked if any of them wanted to wash his car.

A long way to go before he can master the art of slagging off the people who spend money week in and week out so he can afford to sit on Call of Duty all day. A long way to go indeed.

That is basically 90% of twitter.

Didn't MON resign though? Surely that would forfeit any pay off?

Either way, £12m to lose MON and end up with McLeish is a terrible bit of business.

He won a pay off, which is hilarious as he resigned. So his payout, his staff's payoff..

Houllier is included in that 12m too. And his staff.

And then gettin' Eck cost us a couple of million.
