I don't think it was a defensive move. Arsenal were controlling midfield and apart from a couple of moments the strikers weren't getting much, so get Sandro in to help out Parker (who's on a yellow) and get VdV on (who has a great goal and performance record against Arsenal) and theoretically the performance should improve. Shame about conceding the third though.

Spurs are scary having a go at people, deciding to make containing moves like that when you've already shown that and opting to decide to sit which is the reason Arsenal are back in this game in the first place was never going to end nicely. Show too much respect to people and they'll do you. Our tactics good enough to get us 2 up have been thrown away and we handed the initiative to them. We're almost certainly not finishing with 10 men either.
