That happens once there's no more forward momentum, he gets spun round by the impact and the left foot, which was on the floor, flaps into the air.

It looks like a bad tackle so I can see why the referee sent him off. It's similar to Rodwell's against us in that sense.

Yeah, to be honest, all that video proved to me was that it probably deserved to be a red. The follow through caught him studs up, that is a red these days.
