As things stands in League One, at the top end Sheffield Wednesday would move ahead of their city rivals United and into second, if only for a couple of hours. Chesterfield and Exeter would drop into League Two while Wycombe are still in with some hope of staying in the third tier. In League Two, Shrewsbury are on course for promotion this evening as they are beating Dagenham & Redbridge 1-0. Crawley and Torquay are battling for the third automatic promotion place but both their games are goalless. At the bottom, Barnet are leading AFC Wimbledon 1-0 - and that result would mean curtains for the bottom two, Macclesfield and Hereford - both their games are goalless too.

In League One, Wycombe, Chesterfield and Exeter are all relegated. At the top, Sheffield Wednesday's win lifts them into second place for a couple of hours at least - rivals Sheffield United, who kick off against Stevenage in a few minutes, will reclaim second place if they win. Mention to Graham Alexander scoring a last minute equaliser for Preston on the day he retires having played over 1,000 games. That results means that Charlton now cannot break the 100 points barrier.

In League Two, Swindon are champions, Shrewsbury are promoted to League One but the final automatic place will be decided on the final day of the season - Crawley, Torquay and Southend are all in with a shout. Meanwhile, Cheltenham have made sure of a play-off place. At the bottom, Macclesfield are relegated from the Football League - while their rivals Hereford and Barnet both won, and their fate will be decided on the final day.

Interest in the last Carlisle match of the season then, away at Oldham with a slim chance of putting themselves in the play offs. Good for them, hope they win it - especially for Lee Miller who is out for the rest of the season and unfortunately lost his wife only a few days ago, must be a tough time for him right now.

Hull City owners Assem and Ehab Allam have refused to comment on rumours suggesting they have suspended manager Nick Barmby.

It is believed the 38-year-old has been disciplined over comments made about the club's finances in the media.

Barmby took full-time charge of the Tigers in January, following Nigel Pearson's return to Leicester City.

After spending much of the season in the play-offs, a poor run of form saw Hull finish the campaign in eighth.

The club ended with a 2-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday.

Strengthening the team is vital, Barmby has said, if Hull are to challenge for promotion next season.

The Allam family climbed to 214th in the Sunday Times's UK Rich list after seeing their fortune rise £130m to £417m in the last year.

The Egyptian-born owners have spent £51m on the club since taking control in 2010.

Former England international Barmby, who retired from playing shortly before taking over as manager at the KC Stadium, made 180 league appearances for Hull after joining his hometown club from Leeds in 2004.

:(. Fuck Hull.

Update on Hull. Adam Pearson has now been sacked too:

Hull City owners Assem and Ehab Allam have refused to comment on rumours suggesting they have suspended manager Nick Barmby.

It is believed the 38-year-old faces a disciplinary process over comments made about the club's finances in the media.

Barmby took full-time charge of the Tigers in January, following Nigel Pearson's return to Leicester City.

However, the Allams have issued a statement confirming head of football operations Adam Pearson has left.

The statement read: "When we acquired the football club we made it clear we would run it in accordance with sound and proper business principles and procedures.

"We have not and will not deviate from those principles.

"Therefore although we fully appreciate the supporters' and media's desire for information we can not comment on the manager's position at the present time. We will however provide further information when we are able to do so.

"Having listened to media speculation today over funds not being available in the January transfer window, we reiterate that funds were available as previously stated by us.

"We also confirm the club has terminated the consultancy agreement with Adam Pearson without notice and without compensation.

"We are also aware of speculation about the club being up for sale. We can categorically confirm there is no truth in that rumour and we are fully committed to Hull City and its future."

After spending much of the season in the Championship play-off places, a poor run of form saw Hull finish the campaign in eighth.

The Tigers ended with a 2-1 defeat at West Ham on Saturday.

Gutted to have blown that two goal lead at Sheffield the other night, was in party mode and missed a few chances at 2-1 that could've put it to bed. Still, it's in our hands with Bury coming to Broadhall Way this weekend so hopefully we can push in and do what needs to be done. Into the playoffs and I'd fancy us to keep it tight and sneak through. Part of me still thinks "surely not" with that core team being the same players who won the Conference but they've got a lot of guts and seem to believe they can beat anybody. Here's hoping, looking forward to welcoming West Ham to Broadhall Way next season!
