According to the official forums, three bands will be announced at around midnight tonight.

Yup, and 18 more on Wednesday morning. (Though, those may leak Tuesday night, as they are getting printed in Kerrang).

Twisted Sister, Duff McKagan's Loaded and Trash Talk are tonights three it seems.

Sister could be cool. I know of DML but not any of their songs, and I've never heard of Trash Talk. Roll on Wednesday.

Twisted Sister are a band that I've always wanted to see, so I'm more than happy that they've been added to the bill. According to Andy Copping, they will be playing below Alice Cooper on the second stage on the Saturday. Down will also be playing on the Saturday, but on the main stage.

Twisted subbing Alice is amazing, but it means - at best - I'll catch about 5 minutes of Avenged in between. :(

Look on the bright side. You'll only catch about 5 minutes of Avenged. :shifty:

Heresy! :crying:

So, 18 more bands will be in tomorrow's Kerrang. Anyone got any contacts with newsagents, etc? I know that some shops would often sell it a day early...

Def Leppard are the final headliner. I know some people are moaning about re-booking a band after they played two years ago, but I'm happy. They were quality last time, and will be quality again. :)

I wonder if they'll just chuck in the idea of announcing the other 17 tomorrow now?

This.

The stupidest thing I heard on Facebook was "Download must be broke after AC/DC and Aerosmith, booking the same band as two years ago." I fail to see how rebooking a band is any cheaper than booking a new band. Especially Def Leppard. I'd pretty much bet my life they cost more than System of a Down.

Definitely. I know some Soni fans are having a moan over it, but then I point out that Metallica played Soni in 09 too ;)

That and, Biffy Clyro.

Okay, I'll stop complaining about that.

One day.

Point is -a point made by the both of you - that Soni fans have zero right to bitch or complain about this download announcement.

Bring Me The Horizon

Disturbed

Madina Lake

All That Remains

Turisas

The Devil Wears Prada

Cheap Trick

Black Stone Cherry

Asking Alexandria

Sacred Mother Tongue

Jameson Raid

Ghost

Straight Line Stitch

The King Blues

Bowling For Soup

Frank Turner

Apparently, this is the list of the bands confirmed in today's issue of Kerrang. There are quite a few names in there that interest me and, all in all, the festival is taking shape nicely from my point of view. Of course, many people will inevitably complain, but I honestly believe that the overall lineup is looking better than last year's and almost as good as in 2009, which was my favourite so far.

I honest to God do no know who half of those are. Though, Turisas <3

Some placement news - Disturbed are 3rd top on Sunday and Frank Turner is headlining 3rd on Sunday.

Average announcement. Disturbed are good, Black Stone Cherry were good when I last checked them out years ago, and BFS are a lot of fun. Sure I could enjoy a Turisas set too, though they're probably not a band I'd pay to see on tour. Rest of the other bands I either don't know or aren't fussed about; but I'm sure that line-up contained something for everyone.

When's the next announcement? :D

Apparently around 2-3 weeks, when they announce the Friday sub-headliner. I'm guessing they might throw a couple more bands in with it.

Also, whilst I think there are slightly less bands I really want to see than at the equivalent time last year, the spread is generally quite nice. I have (at least) one headliner per day, and some good bands just below them. Download also has a good rep for finding small(ish) bands for the bottom half of the stage.

For me, there is Turisas, Disturbed, Black Stone Cherry, and Bowling For Soup. There's a possibility of All That Remains, though whilst I would have liked to check out Frank Turner - he's opposite Rob Zombie >_>
