Eurovision 2011

we broke triple figures, but still lost to Jedward

How bittersweet.

I did say Azerbaijan would suit UK radio. Nothing amazing, but people will like it. And they did obviously. Glad Georgia and Moldova got a good amount of votes as well, despite the contest appealing to a more 'pop' audience.

Great contest this year, quite unpredictable and nothing obscenely boring.

Hopefully Switzerland will remember 'nanana' doesn't qualify as a global language.

There have been people performing for countrys that were further away from the country they were performing for. ;-)

Yeah, like the fucking African woman for Norway. Thankfully it never got past the semi-finals. That was just weird. Swahili? Is is that commonly spoken in Norway these days? Really? No.

Azerbaijan had the best serious song, so I'm happy with the result. I would have preferred Sweden to win though. The likes of Moldova and Bosnia were never going to win, but they made up good points so well done.

At least it caused denmark to close their borders. So there must be some trouth to them being there.

Hm. Someone has pointed out that Bulgaria gave us 12 points. Not to look in to it too much, but do they want to apologise over anything to the UK? Maybe something recent in the news...

Bulgaria owed us that for the head.

>_>

Touché, sir.

Still, only four of the top ten were Eastern bloc if you want to look at it that way. Don't quite get why Ukraine/Denmark did so well and Greece was a joke, but they always do well in Eurovision so that explains it a bit more.
