Still think they turn the Europa league back into the UEFA Cup and have a straight knockout tournament with no seeds.

This apparently means that the Europa League’s group stage will be reduced from 48 teams to 32, with the new competition and the Champions League all having the same number.

Any idea yet who it will be for? Cup winners? If it's a straight knock-out tournament of some description then that sounds good to me.

If it's another Group Stage heavy tournament featuring every top country's midtable teams then I despair. Brighton v Girona and Montpellier v Sampdoria aren't exactly going to be worthwhile, exciting fixtures in Europe.

But this should mean Everton having regular European football
