I like the matchup. Wonder what the buy rates will be like though considering Bagautinov hasn't had much exposure.

It'll be fairly typical I would imagine around the 200k to 250k mark but as I keep saying THE UFC DON'T NEED BIG BUY RATES ANYMORE, THAT'S NOT HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY!!!

Buy rates interest us because it's the only gauge we have to measure how popular a fighter is, Rich. I think we all know by now that the UFC can put up Nathan Jones vs. Kaz Hayashi and it'll make money.

So when Renan Barao gets a 200k buy rate but 100million Brazilians watch it on Globo or Rede we use the PPV rate to gauge he popularity?

Well, you have to pay for the PPV. Also, Brazilians watch everything Brazilian.

Also also they're two entirely different markets.

I don't see your point thought, when you talk about how popular a guy is, then why would you put more importance on one market than the other? The Brazilian market is obviously incredibleley important to the UFC, just look at the amount of cards that are held there now compared to a couple of years ago, and more Brazilian eyes are on a fight card than US eyes. PPV's give an indication of the importance in North America, but it's not the only indicator.

Also you have to pay to get a lot of the UFC cards in Brazil, its not PPV but is on pay TV.

Just a heads up, Nelson vs Nogueira is on ESPN at 7pm over here. Thought it was a fight pass exclusive but apparently not.

So Alexander Shlemenko (the Bellator middleweight champion) is going to face Tito Ortiz at the Bellator PPV, according to Sherdog.

I would buy a million times over just for this fight alone

Ref should have end the Dariush fight earlier. He took a lot more damage than was needed, he was out on his feet 2, if not 3 times before the fight was ended.

Eugh, so annoyed at the headbutt. Now there's only two fights that matters for the Prediction League.

Also, as much as I'd like to see Tito get walloped, thinking about it I don't want that fight to happen. Ortiz will get destroyed, and I'll be legitimately scared for his health.

For what was shaping up to be a forgettable night of fights, there has been some good'uns!

Nijem/Dariush was a war, Howard/La Flare was an excellent contest and the Guida/Kawajiri tilt was a whirlwind of a fight.

Really looking forward to the main event now.
