DavidMarrio
You can like the fighter and not the person. His three fights so far have all been entertaining. The xenophobia is disgusting but he does speak a lot about mental health/food poverty /things he wants to do for the city etc which is the side that I like about him just not the obvious other side Same with Fury, I like his boxing but I don't like his beliefs. I get the impression he's just a bit of a div, his politics are a bizarre mix of anti Tory pseudo socialism and weird Sun-esque (even more bizarre as a Scouser) xenophobia. He's relatively young and clearly impressionable, so hopefully room to grow. His post match speech on mental health was excellent, and he seems quite good at punchkicking.

fourstarfizzle
I know they'll never stop, but I'm really over these events at high altitudes that just suck the energy out of fighters within a round. Two weeks of acclimation honestly isn't enough for most of them (whilst I'm not a fighter it took me 4 weeks to re-acclimate to the high altitude when I traveled back to live in Mongolia after a summer break) and I think you could see it in both Rockhold/Costa and with Edwards after the first round, he looked so tired but thankfully hit that near-perfect kick to change the result. In other news, I got tickets to One FC Championships this weekend here in Singapore and then realized the event is at 8 am here as it's live for US TV on Amazon Prime! To be honest, I had no idea what they were thinking putting Rockhold / Costa in Utah when Rockhold has been old for around 4 years now and Edwards was going to face a demon of a cardio machine in Usman. Still, makes the trilogy fight hell of a lot more interesting if they put it back in Vegas or somewhere like Florida or NYC. Or maybe... UK stadium show? Also next week is the Ok / Lee rematch, right? That should be fun. I haven't been to a ONE FC fight in a while, but it looks like a short and sweet and most of all, uncomplicated card. Dana wants Wembley for Edwards/Usman 3 apparently, which would be huge. The Ok/Lee fight is Friday night for One160, One Fight Night 1 is the 8am show on Saturday in the same venue. The UFC isn’t exactly known to be fans of Rockhold or Leon. Having Rockhold in a fight which could make him look bad/get starched, and putting Leon up against a guy that trains at altitude full time? Almost like they had a preferred outcome in mind. That being the final fight on Costa’s contract makes things super interesting though. Part of me hopes he gets a boxing deal or a PFL fuck money contract. Also, Trevor Wittman’s stock has fallen through the floor this year. Gaethje loses in high profile fashion, Rose has an all time low fight IQ and loses her title, Usman throws away a title defence at the last. Big shift there.

PFL getting Shane Burgos was a good move on their part and wouldn't be shocking if they make a move for Costa. It is weird that it's took Rocky this long to actually get his title shot and the fact he's won just makes it all the more sweeter. I'd love them to do the trilogy fight in a stadium over here. Cymbols
Got it slightly wrong, Costa is now heading into his final fight. But yeah, a trilogy at sea level would be interesting. Leon looked great in round one.

Benjamin
Would love Aspinall on there as well. Out of all the UK fighters right now, besides Rocky, he’s the one I think is destined for a championship.
fourstarfizzle
Safe to say that One Championship Fight Night 1 I attended didn't disappoint, even at 8 am in the morning! UFC needs to bring in the stage and entrance videos for shows, just added some great hype for the matches. Bar two prelim fights, every fight went to a finish, and Might Mouse's flying knee finish on Moraes was the pick of the lot! Also really enjoyed Marcus Almeida's alligator roll into heel hook submission, he's definitely one to keep an eye on.

Benjamin
And now apparently Khamzat Chimaev is 8-10 pounds off of the 170 weight limit he’s supposed to be at to fight Nate Diaz. The back up plan might be Diaz versus Tony Ferguson, who’s making his first welterweight fight in years 😂 Also, just as an added joke, Kevin Holland’s fight was supposed to be at 180 catchweight, which might be where Chimaev might be (and who Khamzat started the whole presser bullshit with). Imagine ending the PPV with Diaz / El Cucuy and Khamzat / Holland.
