It's all smiles and all fun and games when Conor was on a tear and his trash talking and other bullshit was 'somewhat' endearing because he brought an excitement to the sport.

But now he's just a sad sack of shit who lost three of his last four fights and after years of Conor showing that it's not an act and he's a complete unrepentant piece of human trash, people are finally getting sick of his shit and rightfully so.

His aura of being this invincible shit talking rogue is well shattered now, unless he goes on a proper tear after coming back from the nasty injury.

He had his moment of fame, and I hope for him he actually put all that money somewhere safe rather than throw it all away. Because I really feel like I don't need more Conor McGregor in my life.

I admittedly only read the results after the fact, but it seems like most of the crowd there to see the show live - from the CBS Sports write-up, anyway - was there to support McGregor and booed the result heavily.

Which like.

Not at all surprised.

(But he's still garbage.)

It's kind of funny (well, certainly not ha-ha kind) to see headlines like "Poirier gets heated!" and shit and it's like... well... yes. McGregor was literally threatening to kill him and threatening the guy's wife under the guise of "trash talk".

Oh I realize what I meant by funny, I meant kinda really shitty framing of the whole situation on the part of places like BT Sport etc. <_<

Both Dana White and Conor are making excuses. Conor is claiming he had a pre-existing leg injury, while White said Conor has chronic arthritis in his ankles, and something about pre-existing stress fractures. If that's true, then the fight should not have taken place at all.

i do not like to see fights end due to injury, but after the shit Conor pulled both before and after the fight, I'm not exactly sympathetic. If there's a fourth fight, I hope Porier KO's his ass before the end of round two.

The sad thing is, even if UFC cut him, someone like Triller would back up to his house with a dump truck full of money and he'll spend the rest of his career fighting the likes of Tito Ortiz and some pricks off Youtube.

Some horrifying details regarding Jon Jones arrest last week, warning for descriptions of domestic violence:

Spoiler

Back at Caesars Palace, police made contact with Moses, who stated that she is engaged to Jones and they have been together for 17 years with three children together. Moses denied that she had been arguing with Jones but added that around 11:30 p.m. local time, he went out with his friends while she stayed in the hotel room.

Moses then stated that “she was sleeping and Jones came back, [he] was not very happy” and when asked if he got physical with her, she answered, “a little bit yeah.”

Moses then claimed that Jones “touched the back of my head and pulled my hair a little bit but he did not hit me or anything.” Moses explained that Jones allegedly grabbed her by the hair because she was “trying to leave the room.”

Police then observed blood on her clothing and a bump with “dried up blood on the lower part of her lip as if she was in a physical altercation.” Moses said she was unaware that anything happened to her lip while adding, “I know they are really dry.”

According to police, Moses had blood “around her lips, chin and all over her sweatshirt” along with a swollen lower lip, with officers stating she “seemed scared to even talk about” Jones.

The initial call to police came after Moses went to the security desk at the hotel asking for a key to her room, which is when a guard noticed that she had blood on her lip and clothing. The report states Moses began tearing up and she said she was scared to go back to her room, with one of their children asking, “Can you call the cops?”

The report goes on to say that Jones denied ever pulling her hair or touching her at all, and that they had been “arguing about the tension between them.” It also stated that Moses “still seemed very scared as to the release of Jonathan from jail” and did not fill out a voluntary statement or file a protective order against Jones.

Jones allegedly joked to officers that he could escape the handcuffs, but he apologized and complied after officers threatened to taser him if he continued to resist.

Also, the felony charge he has for tampering with a vehicle also because he headbutted a police car 🤦‍♂️ He’s out on a $8,000.00 bail now. Absolute bullshit that the domestic violence charge is a misdemeanour but the tampering with a vehicle charge is a felony. What the hell, Nevada.

I'm sure UFC will show how serious they are about this kind of behavior and he'll get a whole 6 month suspension, settle his payment dispute, and be headlining a PPV next summer.

Yup. Nicely set up to fight the winner of Ngannou / Gane for the Heavyweight title in 2022.

Yeah, there’s low fight IQ, then there’s whatever that was.

Really pleased for Charles Oliveira though, the way his career has gone is wild. Shame for Dustin, but I also had a horrible feeling that should he have won, it would have paved the way for McGregor to cut in line down the line.

Really interested to see what Dustin does now - he was saying if he won he was leaving the weight class.

I think there's still some good fights in the division for him.  I know there's been rumblings as well about a potential retirement.

I wouldn't mind seeing him and Chandler fight tbh. I don't wanna see him and McGregor again.

The thing I love about MMA can be incapsuled with Oliveira. Guy came into the UFC 10 years ago and I remember him fighting Escudero and having runs of a winning streak then a few losses. Dropping down to Featherweight and winning a few then dropping a fight to the likes of Holloway. But he's been on a roll the last few years. It's just boss to see someone find that extra level and reach the top. Similar to Jan and Glover at Light-Heavyweight, your time can be anytime if you put your mind to it.
