Toe
I'm not worried at all about the decision since both men immediately agreed to a rematch. That is good for the UFC and for the fans. Hopefully the end of the rematch is better with one man being the clear winner.
Thrilla
UFC prelim results from http://www.f4wonline.com There is no wireless in the building, so Dave will be calling with results throughout the day. 1. Andre Winner beat Roli Delgado in the first round with a right hand. Knocked him down once in the first round. Good fight. 2. Alexander Gustafsson knocked out Jared Hamman in 41 second. fan-dabi-dozi brawl, it'll get on TV for sure. 3. Dennis Siver beat Paul Kelly with a spinning back kick to the body. Kicked right through his body, just a brutal kick. They went to the ground and when the ref told them to stand up it was clear Kelly didn't want to, but he did and got brutalized. 4. Nick Osipczak beat Matt Riddle via ground and pound in the third round. Riddle basically got tired. This was a good fight too. 5. Terry Etim beat Shannon Gugerty with a guillotine in the second round. First three fights all could have won best knockout on many if not most cards. Winner had best punch but the kick was brutal. ACCBiggz
No reason to spoiler tag it, this is a live event discussion thread. Osipczak is my boy.
Guest Mr. Potato Head
Yikes, my picks aren't off to a good start.
Thrilla
Didn't want to spoil anything for people for thought I was just bumping the thread before the show starts. None of the results so far are surprising in my opinion.
ACCBiggz
Kelly/Siver could have went either way, and Osipczak was the underdog - but he was one I was thoroughly impressed with on TUF and liked.
Thrilla
Osipczak was my pick in that match, haven't been overly impressed with Riddle. Would have taken him by submission though.
ACCBiggz
Nah, Riddle has the overall better ground game between them. I took Nick by TKO in the second. He's a lanky guy, decent strikes. Glad he won. This main card is quite solid. I'm pumped for Brown/Wilks.
probablyoliver
Pearson looks and sounds like he should be down the mines.
ACCBiggz
For some reason the event hasn't started for me. I'm getting a portion of the UFC Pre-Show where they are breaking down the fights. :@
probablyoliver
Nothing's happened yet. Just the Pearson/Riley entrances.
ACCBiggz
Yeah, finally switched over right before Pearson got in the cage. Whew, that was close.
probablyoliver
Holy crap Pearson is quick.
ACCBiggz
Very impressive first round by Ross. I've yet to be thrilled by him, but so far in this fight he's looked very good.
probablyoliver
And now Riley looks like Carrie. That was a brutal knee.
Gabriel
Pearson looked like a real veteran out there. No jitters or anything. This guy is going to be a beast at 155 if he keeps progressing the way he has.
ACCBiggz
Good knee forces the cut and stoppage. Don't really want to see a third round anyway, Riley was doing nothing and didn't seem Ross had the power to stop someone as tough as Riley just yet. Would have been 5 more minutes of the same thing. What's the saying, Box a Brawler? Yep, seemed to work. Excellent showing by Pearson.
probablyoliver
He still looks like he should be down the mines. >_>
Thrilla
Haha, I love the fact that Americans can't say Leicester correctly.
