Expert campaign isn't that bad. I did the first chapter of No Mercy by myself and it was easy going until the VERY end because a smoker caught me but the AI ran into the safe room rather than save me.

I don't know why people do the elevator blocking exploit. It isn't fun, and it isn't like winning matters. There is no stat tracking. I don't see the point. From now on, I am going to file complaints against any person on a team I see do it. Even if they are my teammates. It's so retarded and infuriating.

Basically the infected move a generator in front of the elevator door in NM4, which then makes it nearly impossible for the survivors to get out of it.

When I played this earlier today with my brother, there was an update. It sounds like part of the update is a fix for the elevator exploit. I like that.
