Anyone heard about this website? I'm watching Attack of the Show on G4 and they just had a segment for it. It's a collaboration between Fox and NBC and some other web based group that brings full TV shows and over 100 movies to the internet for free streaming video. The only downfall is there's (I think) 4 ad breaks, but they're like a few seconds long.

Anyway, I just looked it up, and they have stuff like Walk The Line, Rise of the Silver Surfer, Ice Age, etc. And full episodes of The Simpsons, The Office, SNL, etc.

Pretty cool, I must say.

What's the catch? :shifty:

By coincidence, I seem to recall seeing a shitload of adverts for it yesterday, is it available for the UK or just US?

"Hulu offers U.S. consumers a vast selection of premium video content, on demand, free and ad-supported: full episodes of TV shows, both current and classic, full-length movies, thousands of clips, and much more."

I assume not. :@!

EDIT: Tried a video out and yeah, it says not available in my country. :@!

For the record, the American companies (I believe it's NBC Universal and FOX) have no choice but to block the content, ditto for the network websites. The problem is that when they sell the syndication rights to foreign networks, those networks get all the rights including digital streams and sales. To make those programs available in those countries on Hulu would violate those contracts. If you're really upset about this, you should be writing these networks in your country and demanding that they use their digital rights and get on board with broadband programming. Because until our national broadcasters get on board with it, we won't have any real equivalent.
