So, yeah, I loved the book and I just watched the first episode of the TV series, and I have to admit - it's actually very entertaining. It's staying more or less true to the book's plot (bar the obvious changes they needed to make with copyrights) and all the actors are very good (bar maybe the guy who's Ethan's dad). Evil Mark not being there isn't that much of a bother either.

So...anyone else watching?

I've not seen the program, but I have read the book. It was good, until Copeland appears as a character himself, and the ending was just awful, bad enough to put me off reading his other stuff (which I was keen on doing before I picked jPod up).

I read the book and wasn't over the moon about it because it reads like a random series of uninspired events with characters whose quirks are too forced to bear. Coupland interjecting himself multiple times, both as a character and a subject of character dialogue, is incredibly obnoxious and masturbatory. He certainly has better work.

I might take a shot at watching it, as I overheard a few people praising it in a class.

The book is crap, pure crap. Poorly written, pretentious in a bad way and genuinely irritating to read.

The show's not bad though, nothing mindblowing but certainly watchable.
