An Explosion!

Recommended Posts

Wasn't sure where to put this but does anyone have or point me in the right direction towards a picture of a giant explosion. I'm trying to make a sig like the one below but can't find an adequate explosion for the background.

If someone has one can they please post it here.

Thankyou

If you don't won't to use stocks you can get a realistic explosion effect using the clouds filter and some messing around with the channels. I'll look and see if I can find the tutorial I based most of my explosion effects off of. Explosion effect

thats just one of many which can be found on good-tutorials.com. You could also combine that with stocks as well to add intensity to the effect.

Keith did you slice your and use html for your sig ?

On my main screen I'm using a slightly edited version of these..

http://www.summerglau.co.uk/gallery/wallpaper_collection.php

I flipped it horizontally, put the text back the right way round and got rid of the serenity logo. I'm not at home at the moment, so I can't upload the exact one.

On my verical screen I have just the background. I removed River and the explosion, so it looks like the two screens run together. Pretty cool.

No worries. Happy to help.

If you're about to start working with Stock Photos, you can't really go wrong with...

http://www.sxc.hu

http://www.morguefile.com

Both good resources.

Boring bit coming up!

And if you're going to be honest about it, check the terms of use for each photograph. The photos I mentioned have no specific restrictions outside of the sxc standards, which are pretty lax. Obeying that stuff is a good habit to get into, should you ever get approached to do anything commercial, going straight to the royalty free stuff is a good way to avoid getting into trouble. Or if you're really serious, then you can start buying photographs.

End of boring bit.

Yeah. Cool. Happy to help.
