It's funny because when the Leafs go another 40 years without winning a cup, somebody will invent a 'curse', and Blake getting cancer will be one of the top examples of this curse. Seriously, I don't need to watch another game this year to know how it's going to go down in Leaf fans' version of history - the year we didn't make the playoffs because one of our guys got cancer.

Its terrible that it happened, but like Ryan I find it funny that Toronto essentially dealt out a first, second and fourth along with 28 Million in salaries/extensions basically for Toskala.

Dude, I was just making a point about it. I know it was your first win of the year, but if you're going to justify 3 picks and 28 million for a 30 save performance and a win based on 2 huge mistakes by Montreal then maybe you should go talk to Plubby about how good Theo is.

To me, Vesa Toskala is a breath of fresh air. I am a Raycroft supporter, and watching Toskala on Saturday and on Thursday was something different for me - a goalie that can make a spectacular save and change the momentum of the game.

Basha is saying that we have payed far too much for Toskala, and he is probably right, even if Toskala plays well.

That was a horrific game. Toskala made some big stops in the first to keep the Leafs down only by one, but in the second and third the Leafs stopped skating and allowed the Hurricanes to dominate. Cam Ward was solid in goal for them, too.

Special teams was the achilles heel again. The powerplay has been weak, and now the penalty kill has been exposed as pretty crappy too.

I expect the game against the Islanders to go much better.

EDIT - I know some Toronto fans are freaking. It's game four of a 82 game season though, Toronto has the time to fix this and become a playoff team.
