ACCBiggz
Let me slow this down for you... they book a show for Showtime incase Fedor doesn't fight on that particular card. Once the Fedor fight becomes official, it's moved to CBS. Scott Coker just announced that Gegard Mousasi, Jake Shields, Mayhem Miller, Cris Cyborg will all be on Fedor-Rogers undercard. Fedor vs. Brett Mousasi vs. Whoever they happen to have at 205 because it was honestly Babalu/Mousasi and no one else Cyborg vs. Marloes Coenen Jake Shields vs. TBA (Jake was going to fight for interim 185 title, possible Mayhem gets the shot?) Guest Mr. Potato Head
Right, except for the part where they announced Fedor/Rogers on 11/7 before they announced anything else on 11/7. They did not say they were going to have a show until they announced the main event.
ACCBiggz
Right, except for the part where they announced Fedor/Rogers on 11/7 before they announced anything else on 11/7. They did not say they were going to have a show until they announced the main event. Strikeforce booked an arena for 11/7 about a month ago, and ESPN broke the Fedor/Rogers fight two weeks ago (no bsigned bout agreements so therefore rumor and not official). None of this is new news. adamg
This is a great move for Strikeforce, getting to show their brand on national television and also getting Fedor exposure in the casual fans eyes. I love it.
Fitzy
Scott Coker said that Cung Le has given up the Middleweight title as he has signed on for another movie. He goes on to state that he will check in with Le every six weeks to see what his schedule is like for potential super fights. “With Cung, every six weeks we’ll be checking back with him,” he continued. “Now that he’s not going to be our title holder, we’ll put him in some big super fights and continue his MMA career, but not have the pressure of defending his belt when he has movie opportunities.” Jake Shields and Jason Miller will now fight for the Middleweight title instead of what was going to be a interim title on the November 7 CBS show. So with what Biggz has up there, they will have Fedor/Rogers and three title fights with Mousasi defending against someone, Shields/Miller for the Middleweight title, and Cyborg defending against Coenen and it is only scheduled for two hours. That's going to be interesting if it all fits. Well, according to an interview with Scott Coker on MMAFanhouse, the Cyborg/Mousasi fights might not even be title fights... Are Mousasi and Cyborg going to be fighting in five-round title fights? Not necessarily, no. Cyborg has discussed moving up in weight class and Mousasi can fight at 185 or 205 or 220. We have to work out those details.
ACCBiggz
We'll see if I get to watch this. My roommates that left (see: The Lounge) also took the digital cable box for some reason, so I can't order it. Time Warner is currently down as well so I can't get it online, and I don't know anywhere I can watch this in town. No bars get it.

Guest Mr. Potato Head
I was just asking people the other day on MSN why Buentello hadn't had a fight yet. Now what's Heath Herring's story?
Gene Kiniski
I was just asking people the other day on MSN why Buentello hadn't had a fight yet. Now what's Heath Herring's story? Herring went down with an injury.
ACCBiggz
Actually, Herring had a recent interview where he said he'd not interested in returning right away because he's been acting. So, yeah, he could have fought by now but is not interested in fighting.

ACCBiggz
47 I believe, long time martial artist... yes, he will get railroaded soon enough. Not expected to make debut until 2010.
SeanDMan
It was jokingly suggested this morning on the sports news that he is looking for a superfight with Brock Lesnar since they're both Vikings alum.
Terry Funk
A couple of potential spoilers, even if the various events have passed. Looks as if both Trigg and Cro Cop are ready to hang up their gloves... Monson lost to Rizzo, snapping a seven fight win streak. Sylvia beat Riley to get back on track - weighing in at a not very svelt 287 pounds, some 23+lbs lighter than the weigh-in against Mercer
ACCBiggz
Source for the Trigg/CroCop news?
Fitzy
The Trigg part, at least, is from an interview MMAJunkie did with Trigg where they say White said this: "I think Trigg is one of those guys (like Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic)," White said after the conclusion of the UFC 103 post-fight press conference. "These (other) guys are young and explosive. There's just a whole other level of talent out there, man, and that's the way it works. That's the way this business is." So, will he give it some thought before terminating the contract? "I doubt it," White shrugged. "He got smoked tonight." http://mmajunkie.com/news/16262/with-ufc-planning-to-terminate-his-contract-frank-trigg-says-retirement-is-likely.mma
Guest Mr. Potato Head
All I've heard about Cro Cop was on Observer Radio where they mentioned that after the Kongo fight, Mirko turned to John McCarthy and said something like "I'm getting too old for this"...and speculation that another lackluster fight might convince him to retire. Fitzy's right on Trigg, though.
Fitzy
He won't be cut, he'll get another shot now. "They said I'll get one more shot, another fight, to prove I belong here," Trigg told MMAjunkie.com. "If I win, they've got to keep me around. If I lose and it's back-to-back losses, they'll probably drop me, rightfully so."
