I really wish people would refer to Wintersun as WFS instead of DFF, every time I see DFF I'm like "who the fuck?"

Or the Samurai Pizza Cats.

Or the Street Sharks.

Actually, I guess those would belong in TMNT Mafia.

Damn, there were a shitload of AWFUL kids action show fad rip-offs in the 90's.

I don't know if you just insulted Street Sharks or not. Either way, die! *stab*

Or Toxic Avengers.

Or Captain Bucky O'Hare (mutants and aliens and toads beware).

Josh and I mentioning Toxic Avengers at nearly the exact same time has to add a lot of fuel to the fire that we're the same person.

Also, Biker Mice from Mars.

Honestly, I never liked many of those shows... at all, frankly. Ninja Turtles was absolutely tremendous for the first few seasons, and James Bond Jr. was all right, but I was definitely more of a Disney Afternoon kid than a Saturday morning cartoon one. Darkwing Duck and Ducktales in particular, and Tale Spin to a lesser extent.

In hindsight, though, I really have to ultimately give the nod to Tale Spin, if only because the idea was so... out there. A cartoon with characters from The Jungle Book is one thing, but the setting was just so... weird for a kids' show. It's like... a 1930's-ish urban dystopia ruled by a tiger set in the middle of a cliff-lined inlet protected by guns, and it follows the adventures of a package delivery man in his quest to foil mad military despots and zeppelin flying air pirates?

Seriously, Tale Spin doesn't get nearly enough love, if for no other reason than it was such a fucking weird idea for a kids' show in the early 90's.

Yeah, Tale Spin was HIGH quality, even if it's a fucked up concept when analyzed. And as you said, Disney Afternoon included some quality shows.

However, Goof Troop represented the beginning of a creative downturn (but did anyone ever play the SNES game? That shit was addictive.) Bonkers was the final nail in the coffin.

Fuck it, there needs to be a Disney Afternoon Mafia.

C-MIL, this strikes me as your territory. Get on it.

EDIT: Or you, Sousa. Whateverthefuck, just get on it so I can fly on a personal air foil or be GizmoDuck.
