This isn't really breaking news to anybody, most people knew they weren't getting passed Ott. In 2-3 years, the Penguins will probably be a playoff threat.. I'm sure they will make the playoffs in the 07-08 season, the team is getting pretty stacked; i think they just need to place their lines better, but I still don't see them getting passed the first round, not next year.

It's too early to tell how did the Penguins will go next year, because it remains to be seen what will happen to a couple of their players who are entering free agency, and who they will get to improve their defence for next year.

Really, it's too early to say who will make the playoffs at all. Teams like Columbus and Chicago may be only one piece away from becoming competitive teams, while others may fall apart.

Todd Bertuzzi has stated that next year he wants to play for the Maple Leafs. Before, I thought that was a fucking stupid idea. After seeing him in the last Calgary/Detroit game, that would not be such a bad thing. He was hitting everyone and got a goal, he looked good. One game won't sway my opinion of Bertuzzi, but for the right price it wouldn't be the worst thing. His health and his work ethic during an 82 game season are the big questions.

So I'm trying to find something explaining the road to the Stanley Cup, but can't find anything. Anaheim will play the winner of which game? Detroit/Calgary? If that is the case, who gets the first home game?

If Detroit win, they get the first home game against the Ducks. If Calgary win, Anaheim get the first home game.

John Tortorella is a fucking pimp.

Everyone thinks that because they talk to the media, that the coaches and players need to be professional... but when you're getting constantly egged on like he was, I'm actually proud as a hockey fan to see and hear him tell a reporter to "get the fuck out of here".

Some twit at the Sporting News suggested that starting next postseason, the NHL goes to two overtimes and a shootout in the playoffs instead of unlimited overtime.

Her next suggestion might be that the NBA go to a dunk contest instead of overtime, because THE PEEPLZ LUV DA DUNKINZ. The shootout got rid of ties.

That said, somebody explain to me the 3-2-1 scoring system. I get 3 pts for regulation, 2 for OT and 1 for shootout, but what about the losers? Is it 0-1-1 or 0-1-0 or 0-0-0

The 3-2-1 system was rumored after the Islanders got in via the shootout. I still haven't heard anything official one way or the other, but I don't think they'll put it in because then they'll get teams playing too hard in overtime and avoiding the shootout.

And the punishment on McClellan was a joke. He should've been tossed for at least the playoffs, if not a large chunk of time next year. The only reason he went in was to fuck somebody up big-time and that should not be tolerated. Send in your goons and have a fight, don't send in your reserve goalie and have him go McSorley.

EDIT: If Versus reminds me of Messier's guarantee one more time during this Detroit/Calgary game I'm going to lose my mind.
