No, they're all just bands that tend to be massively overrated by their fans, and massively despised by their detractors (and I will outright say that I'm totally guilty of the latter in Coheed's case). Hence, Fanboy Wank.

I'm not sure exactly how wanky Tool is in comparison to Coheed and TMV. That would take a degree in science to determine. But they're totally worse than Nirvana in that respect because Nirvana is also so widely considered to be overrated that they, in turn, actually become a bit underrated because of it.
