They were heading into the season.

"ESPN picks the Dallas Cowboys to win Super Bowl XLI!!"

That's the first I've heard of ANYONE picking the Cowboys to go all the way.

And to Ace, I don't think you can make a claim that we're overrated going on what our own fans say. If all the specialists/professionals were saying the same thing, then yeah you could say that but just going on what a team's own fans say is a bit silly, they're obviously going to be biased.

Packer's fans aren't egotistical though, just morons. :shifty:

I don't hate the fans so much, just the teams. I loath all three of my North division rivals, but their fans don't bother me too much. So far anyway.

I think most of you folks from other NFC North teams feel sorry for us rather than consider us egotisitical. And probably appreciate that it's our team that gives you all an easy win each year.

Patriots need to control the clock by running the ball and hitting the quick passes for four or five yards. This will get that blitz-happy defense to creep up and allow Brady to go over the middle to his tight ends and slot receivers for big gains. On defense, the Patriots need to really cut down Tomlinson's yards-per-carry Force Philip Rivers into third-and-five, third-and-four situations and then bring the heat with a contain linebacker for a screen situation. Contain Tomlinson, confuse Rivers, you beat their offense. I think the Patriots have more play makers right now then the Chargers and have enough talent on their lines to beat anyone. You have to take into consideration that the Chargers had the bye to rest, so who knows what they will actually come out doing. I see the Patriots winning a in a medium-scoring, tight affair. Probably 24-20, perhaps 20-17.

I believe the Colts need to actually keep the Baltimore defense on the field in their game. How? Run the ball, pound them with it, and get that defense going. If the Colts can wear out that Baltimore defense early with their running backs, I believe the door will be open Manning to do what he does. I honestly see the Colts winning this game, but a rested Baltimore defense and Jamal Lewis is scary. Ravens, 24-17.

I believe a rested Bears team will come out fast against the Seahawks, which may not be the best idea. I think the Bears should run the ball a lot in this one, don't allow Grossman a lot of opportunities to make a big mistake. I believe the defense will keep the Bears in it no matter what the Bears do, but I think the Bears will need a solid ground game and a solid appearance from Grossman to win. 17-7, Bears take it.

The Eagles are a great story, the Saints are a better one. Neither team will be able to do anything on defense in this one, so I believe it will come down to scheme and execution on offense. The Saints have more weapons which they must utilize, and the Eagles have Brian Westbrook to go to in any situation. I believe that the Saints will manage to contain Westbrook and use their weapons to win this one. Saints 35, Eagles 27.

Bobby Petrino is the new Atlanta head coach.... bad move imo, I don't think he is a NFL type coach, but we'll see.

Falcons nab Louisville's Petrino for head coach slot

By Pat Forde

ESPN.com

Louisville coach Bobby Petrino has accepted a five-year, $24 million offer from the Atlanta Falcons to become their new coach, according to a Louisville source.

The Cardinals have a previously scheduled 9 p.m. ET team meeting at which Petrino will tell his players, the source said. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reported that an NFL source also confirmed the hiring.

"I'm in shock right now," Louisville kicker Arthur Carmody told ESPN's Joe Schad Sunday night. "I'm about to walk into a team meeting right now. We're coming off a great Orange Bowl win and we were all thinking national championship. I didn't think this would happen. He said he enjoyed college football. He's a great coach and we're going to miss him."

An announcement from the Falcons could come Monday. ESPN's Chris Mortensen first reported earlier Sunday evening that the Falcons were in deep negotiations with Petrino.

Before the season, Petrino signed a 10-year, $25 million contract with Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich. Petrino had previously interviewed with Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame and the Oakland Raiders for other jobs, but announced in August that he would be at Louisville for the long haul.

"I can't tell you how happy I am with the commitment and the confidence that Tom Jurich has in me and the university has in me," Petrino said after signing the contract. "I also wanted to make sure that everyone understood, I know I've said it, that this is where my family wants to be. This is where I want to be. I want everyone to really believe it."

Louisville had just completed a 12-1 season climaxed by their first BCS bowl victory, over Wake Forest in the Orange Bowl. Petrino's record was 41-9 at Louisville, as he elevated the program into an annual national contender.

The leading candidate to replace Petrino figures to be Tulsa coach Steve Kragthorpe, who has taken the Golden Hurricane to three bowl games in four years after taking over one of the worst programs in the country.
