Useful Photoshop Tricks

Righto, taking a Photoshop class, and we're being asked to look around and come up with some hints/tricks to acheive nice effects fairly easily, and then show them to the rest of the class. I could just search google and grab the first few I see, but everyone'll do that, and it'd be neat to have a few unique ideas. So, if you don't mind sharing any fairly simple shortcuts you take to get a nice effect in your graphics, it'd be appreciated.

Hitting Tab will get rid of all the options and stuff on screen and leave you with just the canvas. Useful for quick decluttering.

trick 1: if you must use the lightning effect filter . use it on a layer above your graphic filled with 50% gray. Now you have total control of how much of the effect you have and etc.

Trick 2: Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E will merge all your layers into the top msot layer

trick 3: To kill a layer without being asked if you are sure etc.:

Shift + Alt + while clicking the trash can.
