Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno, who was a member of the band between 1978 and 1981 and sang on their first two studio albums, has passed away at age 66 as per the singer's current record label Conquest Music.

Oh that’s a shame. He didn’t quite have the classic metal voice like Bruce but the first Iron Maiden album is possibly my favourite of theirs and I can’t imagine sounding right with any other singer.

I know he'd been struggling with his health for a long time, but this is still a sad surprise because he was playing shows as recently as just over a month ago.

It's nice that he seemed to let go of the bitterness he held towards Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson for so many years before he went, though.
