James Earl Jones Has Passed Away

When I was in high school, my choir was perennially invited to Disney World during the holiday season to take part in Disney's Candlelight Processional. It was essentially one or two high school choirs on stage, an orchestra, the Liberty Singers and a special celebrity guest narrator, telling the Nativity story with related hymns and music. Man, if only we had gone when James Earl Jones narrated.

The dude was the definition of an actor. Need an actual actor? No problem. Deep voice? Could be good or evil? Sure. Quick spot for your 24 hour massive cable news company? Bing. Just someone to stare at you?

Go watch THE GREAT WHITE HOPE. Its based on a play of the same name about the great Jack Johnson (though the character is renamed to Jack Jefferson), and he's absolutely brilliant in it. Jones and Jane Alexander won Tonys for the play.

James Earl Jones was one of those rare people you could read the dictionary and you wouldn't get bored.

:crying:
