Comfortably better team in that too, belated justice for Ireland not that it did them much good but after taking the lead Fiji didn't really have any pressure or moments they looked like scoring.

That rugby sevens final was electric. Really, really great when the home nation wins gold in front of 70,000 raving fans.

Also, the decision to put the fencing inside the Grand Palais was really smart but I can't get over how the temporary stadium build out clashes with the aesthetics of the building. Nevertheless this is how it should be done, temporary venues should always be the norm.

That said, I can't help feeling this half-empty court in Paris isn't quite as fitting an ending as Centre Court at Wimbledon would have been, with his brother, a video tribute, and Sue Barker.

I love the passion Evans showed with every point in that comeback. He put everything in.
