It's been repeatedly said that we don't have an actual relay team and just individual sprinters and yet they made a focus to practice more on relays this year and they still mess up.

That it always seems to happen on the first pass makes it feel like a self-fulfilling prophecy.  Insane pressure on those first two guys to not mess it up that there being another choke isn't surprising.

I think the wet conditions made the changeovers tougher as well. There were a few teams who didn't get it right.

KJT did a great job, but Thiam was just too much in the throwing events.

I was going to comment that I've watched so many events where Britain was extremely close.

Okay we’ve climbed above France in the medal table. This is literally all I want from the Olympics (or any olympics) so let’s just keep that.

Puts them three clear at the top of the medal table with the womens team table tennis about to go their way as well probably clinches the top position for them. US clear second. Australia are on 18 golds two clear of Japan in fourth but with four in with a shout in the wrestling that Japan have been dominating they might overhaul that. The count wasn't stopped so France a gold ahead of GB now.

I don’t know the first thing about competitive taekwondo yet I’m watching it in amazement at seeing thousands of fans watching it screaming their heads off.  The staging and setups at some of these venues has been so cool.

About the only entertaining part of the breaking so far... Which is a damning indictment of it sadly. There are a couple of moments but even by events judged on interpretation standards it's been a struggle.

Norway's women won Gold in Handball with their starting GK (who was excellent today) being the oldest Handball Olympian ever...at 44 years old! She's still got 4 more years in her I bet to have one last dance in 2026!

With this talent level it's not a huge surprise Emma Hayes got the US playing this well, but doing it this quickly really is impressive.
