Yes, actually. It's supposed to both be the Olympic flame and Marianne.

USA men's basketball has some flaws, but I expect them to have little trouble winning another gold medal. Same with the women. USA all day, baby!

I'm looking forward to this. I always enjoy watching the Olympics, and this year has the added benefit of a time zone that suits me.

The olympics are the best thing ever. I watch about everything apart from dressage. Most of these sports I only watch every 4 years so I get happy when I notice I already know some of these athletes from 4 years prior. It's like seeing an old friend.

Ha I have a friend who is much the same way with Olympic sports and now that we're old enough we get to exchange texts during certain events like "when does Masato Uchishiba go on?"

Not that I want it in the Olympics, but I'm the son of a horse trainer who used to train horses to do dressage, and I've been told endless times how difficult it is for both the trainer/rider and the horse. My argument that "the medal should go to the horse, not the rider" has never gone down well.

I think the only fair thing is to let other animals compete. I'd be all for a timed dog assault course.

Perhaps we could bring back the Painting or Poodle Clipping events from Olympics' past instead?

If we can have horse dancing, synchronised swimming and whatever the hell modern pentathlon is, I'd say golf is a fair inclusion.

I quite like the Modern Pentathlon, but they could probably modernise it a bit more. Maybe remove the equestrian, and replace it with a 100 player game of Fortnite.

I'm with you on paragraph one. I'd get rid of golf and tennis, and potentially football too though at least they change the format a bit like the rugby 7s. In fact fuck it, scrap the football and replace it with indoor 5 a side.

I think Olympic events are best when the gold medal is the most desirable prize in the sport. For that reason, I would remove golf and tennis. Regarding football, I'd have to ask how it's viewed in other countries because, London 2012 aside, it doesn't get much coverage here.
