Bobfoc
Just a reminder that England have won one out of five shootouts in the Euros before now.

Bobfoc
Very happy for Saka. Missing again would have been devastating.

Bobfoc
Tories out, British 1-2-3 in Silverstone qualifying and England winning a penalty shootout. I can't complain much about the last few days.

TheGrandAvatar
Coach driver for England probably thought he'd be home by now. Good game for England and good on the penalties. Not a bad game for number 100 for Southgate. Although I think a better team would have took advantage of England's defensive mistakes Tonight. gunnar hendershow
20 minutes ago, Adam said: I think that'd be bad for tournaments. Spain literally won in extra time yesterday. I agree, but something needs to be done to mitigate how many teams are willing to just defend until they get to the shootout. Needless to say scrapping extra time doesn't suddenly mean those teams will try for 90, in fact I suspect more teams will just treat the 2nd half as a de facto holding half. I don't really know what's best. Anything I can think of that probably gets to the root of the above problem only opens up a new one. Adam
I just don't agree. Teams choose to defend and be safe in extra time, that's up to them. Switzerland had a few chances there in the additional 30. Football isn't all about attacking and scoring, weird as that is to say. Defending is equally important in the make-up of any game. You want football games won playing football wherever possible, not in shoot-outs.
Szumi
Stutter step penalties need to be banned immediately. They're a ridiculous advantage for the taker, when they're already at a huge advantage going in.

Dang117
Spain have been quite arguably the best team attacking in the tournament yet they are coming up against a French side that can sit well and defend punish you on the counter. Spain I would say for the way they've played all tournament deserve to win it but Portugal won it in 2016 with really lacklustre performances
Chris2K
How about that other game? Pretty ordinary defending for both Dutch goals, but this second half Dutch side look a force to be reckoned with.
JasonM
Without Gakpo the Dutch would've been so absolutely buggered this tournament. Most of his individual brilliance has hid how poor the team has been playing.
Chris2K
This is the best quarter final by a measurement so large it has not yet been defined by science.
