Colly
I'd question whether that's true or just an attempt to save face, but even if it is there are surely better ways to go about it than actually putting the formal request out? It's been condemned by pretty much everyone in strong terms.
DavidMarrio
That was my thought behind it all. The only people they're gonna get onside is sections of your own fan base, everyone else is basically going to be looking at it from a point of 'get on these lot, the cheek of it'

DavidMarrio
Looking forward to the inevitable give the northern teams the Sunday kick off at a late time while the London teams because why use common sense and also fuck travelling football fans Edit: as it turns out there will be no trains from Liverpool or Manchester to London the weekend of the semi finals. Just move the game to Old Trafford, Birmingham or the Millennium stadium
Admin Lineker Posted March 25, 2022 Author Admin Report Share Posted March 25, 2022 Quote The Football Association has announced that it will charter a free return bus service from Anfield and the Etihad Stadium to Wembley to enable up to 5,000 Liverpool fans and the same number of Manchester City supporters to get to next month’s FA Cup semi-final. There are no direct trains to London from Manchester and Merseyside that weekend because of engineering works and the mayors of Greater Manchester and Liverpool had joined fans in calling for the match to be moved. The FA said 100 buses would go from each club’s stadium on the day of the game, confirmed on Friday as 3.30pm on Saturday 16 April. On the same day, at 12.15pm, Manchester City will play at West Ham in the semi-finals of the Women’s FA Cup. “The FA is pleased to announce that a limited number of free return bus services will be provided for both the Emirates FA Cup and Vitality Women’s FA Cup semi-finals involving Liverpool and Manchester City on Saturday 16 April to support fans from the north-west who wish to travel to and from London,” the FA said. “The FA will charter 100 buses from Anfield and the Etihad Stadium respectively to Wembley Stadium and back. This will ensure that up to 5,000 Liverpool and Manchester City supporters will be able to travel to Wembley Stadium free of charge for their semi-final tie. “The FA is also committed to provide a number of free return bus services for Manchester City Women supporters travelling from the north-west to east London. These bus schedules are subject to availability, must be pre-booked, and the clubs will provide more information in due course. “In addition, the FA is working with its partners at National Highways to ensure that the road networks are running as efficiently as possible over the Easter period. Hundreds of miles of unessential roadworks will be put on hold to help supporters enjoy the occasion and enhance their journeys.” The Liverpool v Manchester City match will be live on BBC1, kicking off at a time usually covered by the Saturday afternoon live TV blackout, because as it is Easter weekend most lower-division and non-league games are taking place on Good Friday and Easter Monday. There are three 3pm Premier League kick-offs. The other semi-finals are on Sunday 17 April. Chelsea’s women visit Arsenal at 12.30pm, while Chelsea’s men play Crystal Palace at Wembley at 4.30pm. DavidMarrio
Doesn't do enough. Yes it's good for a small section of fans of either side but what about the other thousands. The roads are going to be hectic with it being a bank holiday weekend anyway. It was bad enough the M6 etc for the league cup final Just move the game to Birmingham or Old Trafford. The whole semi finals being at Wembley is a load of shite anyway. But the FA doesn't care about fans especially northern based fans... whatever lines their back pocket is their main interest

gunnar hendershow
I have no idea what Steffen was thinking on that second goal watching the highlights. Just total lack of awareness. Even at the very lowest levels in the weakest youth teams in the US in the 90s we were taught to not do that.
Hobo
I dont really see Wembley that much but it was apparently built to block out sun? Except in one corner where it gets all of the sun Also its 3-
