Stephon Gilmore has tested positive for COVID-19.  Two days after playing in a game and four days after Cam Newton tested positive.

This is why playing Monday was always a terrible idea, and why 14 day quarantines after exposure are supposed to be a thing.  Many people don't test positive until days after exposure.

There's a non-zero chance the Pats will have a full blown outbreak now, and possibly the Chiefs.

Haskins was a bust and it's clear Rivera wants to give Allen a shot, but he didn't set the world on fire last year.

I personally think it's a bit early to label him a bust when the organization did nothing to support him but yeah, Rivera's been itching to move to Allen since he got there basically.

I've watched a couple of his games and he looks very lost. He's perhaps picked up more confidence with the emergence of Antonio Gibson but who knows. His 300 yards against Baltimore were a lot of "we'll give up 10-15 yards on the slant" plays because our pass rush is shit and requires constant blitzing to generate any pressure. Very deceptive yardage total.

A savvy team in need a of future QB should target Haskins and see if they can lowball the Redskins; Denver doesn't have a lock at QB, Roethlisberger's body will only hold up so long in Pitt, Tom Brady is a short term solution for TB obviously, Colts aren't sold on Brissett obviously if they brought in Rivers who is also old, may be other situations too

If you could swing a late round pick or depth guy or something for Haskins and see what you have or have him learn under someone else more experienced, could be a steal

Chuck is right about this (Darnold and Jones are both not the answers), and maybe with a better line Haskins could do more. But the QBR he has is a bit deceptive because they're able to rely on the running game quite a bit and don't need him to make risky throws.

There's more potential at the QB position than ever before, so a guy like Haskins (or Rosen) can easily be shuffled out for the next shiny toy. What the Titans pulled off with Tannehill is the exception, not the rule. If a QB doesn't show it by the end of year 3 at the latest it's hard to justify giving them more opportunities vs. trying out the next guy.

I don't know how much of that is true. Washington got a new GM and HC since Haskins was drafted so he's not there handpicked guy.

Darnold and Jones are both carry overs, one with the same HC and friends with the GM and the other is with a rookie HC that was picked by the current GM.

I'm not saying the argument isn't true in general, but this certain scenario doesn't ring white privilege to me.

Plus, Joe Flacco and Colt McCoy are the backups. >_>

This is so true. Looking at the 32 teams, there are potentially solid arguments for all of these teams to decide to make a serious change within their QB rooms next off-season, be it for existing gaps, poor play, aging current starter, current starter on an expiring contract, just deciding to cut bait and move on, or whatever else might crop up:

  • Patriots
  • Jets
  • Browns
  • Steelers
  • Colts
  • Jaguars
  • Broncos
  • Raiders
  • Cowboys (if Prescott can't be tied down)
  • Giants
  • Eagles
  • Washington
  • Bears
  • Lions
  • Vikings
  • Falcons
  • Panthers
  • Saints
  • Buccaneers
  • 49ers

Now obviously not all of these will see anything happen. But there is the potential there for huge upheaval.
